Terms and Conditions

Here's the unpleasant (but important) bit...

  • Please ensure you have measured the space adequately.  The Slumber Tent set up (tent frame and mattress) measures 195cm in length and 97cm in width.  The large wigwam (teepee for two) measures 218cm high, 195cm in length and 190cm wide.

  • The space you have chosen for the indoor teepees must be completely free of furniture when we arrive to set up.

  • Please ensure there is a parking space close to your property or chosen site so that I can unload and re-load the equipment safely and conveniently.

  • Please do not move the teepee's once they have been set up. It is not permitted to move the position of any of the teepees, or to move to another room.

  • Pets are not allowed within the Slumber Tents, tents or bell tents.

  • We operate a STRICT NO SMOKING policy inside the teepees and bell tents.

  • Candles with flames are not permitted inside or near the teepees and bell tents. Battery operated candles or LED/solar lights will be provided.

  • For your protection and safety, cooking is prohibited inside the bell tents. Fire pits and BBQ's can cause fires and the release of deadly carbon monoxide.

  • Fire pits should be sited a safe distance from the bell tent and should not be left unattended.

  • We cannot accept any responsibility or liability for losses or other costs incurred as a result of: acts of God including fire, flood, storm or natural disasters.

  • Your chosen bell tent site must be on clear, flat firm ground with easy access, No drains, cables or other services should be buried beneath the surface or otherwise concealed. The hire charges do not include any making good or repairing of damage to the site.  PLEASE NOTE: The bell tent cannot be pitched on astro turf or paving.

  • Please ensure your selected site is not susceptible to bogginess or has poor drainage. Any flooding caused is the responsibility of the hirer

 

Slumber Tents Essex Undertakings

  • We will deliver, set up and furnish your teepee or bell tent at a mutually agreed time.

  • We will dismantle and remove all equipment at a mutually agreed time.

  • While we will do everything possible to ensure our tents are erected at the agreed time and date, no responsibility or liability can be accepted for delays due to road accidents or severe traffic problems.

 

Payment

  • A £10 non-refundable deposit is payable on booking an indoor teepee, indoor or outdoor picnic. An additional £50 security deposit is required at the time of your balance payment, which will be refunded to you (in full or minus the cost of any damages incurred) within two working days of the end of the booking.

  • A £50 non-refundable deposit is payable to secure the date of your bell tent.  An additional £100 security deposit is required at the time of your balance payment, which will be refunded to you (in full or minus the cost of any damages incurred) within two working days of the end of your booking.

  • The balance payment is required one week before your event.

Cancellation

  • If you wish to cancel your booking once you have paid your initial deposit please do notify us as soon as possible. In these circumstances, your initial deposit is non-refundable, unless your cancellation is COVID related.

  • If you wish to cancel after you have paid the full cost of your hire, you will receive a full refund if you cancel 72 hours before the date of your booking.  If you cancel after this time we are unable to refund you unless we are able to rebook the teepee's, tents or bell tent for the same date. If this happens we may offer the tent at a reduced price to encourage a late booking and any money we recover will be refunded to you. 

  • In the event of extreme weather conditions making it impossible to erect the bell tent such as high winds and torrential rain, we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for losses or other costs incurred as a result. In this situation we will work with you to offer you and alternative date, where possible.

  • We reserve the right to cancel your booking at any time. In the very unlikely event of this happening, a full refund will be made, however we will not accept responsibility or liability for losses or any other costs incurred as a result.

  • ALL CANCELLATIONS, MADE EITHER BY SLUMBER TENTS ESSEX OR THE CUSTOMER, WILL BE FULLY REFUNDABLE IF THE CANCELLATION IS DUE TO COVID-19.

Delivery

  • Delivery is free if you live within 10 miles of the CO7 postcode. This is where the Slumber Tents live. If you live further than 10 miles we will need to charge you 30p per mile after the first 10 miles (which will be free). For example; Chelmsford is 29 miles away. The first 10 miles is free. So we would need to charge you for the 19 extra miles. 19 miles x 30p is £5.70.  There are 4 journeys (there and back to set up and there and back to pack down) making the cost £22.80.

Disclaimer

  • Slumber Tents Essex cannot be held responsible for the safe consumption, or any issues resulting from food allergies. It is your responsibility to check all food labelling, and that it is suitable and safe for the consumption of guests with allergies and/or intolerances.​

  • Slumber Tents Essex cannot be held responsible for any adverse reaction to any particular ingredient and/or product, We recommend that you read the ingredient lists carefully prior to any products being used and/or applied. An allergy test is recommended if there is any doubt or history of skin reaction. It is your responsibility to immediately stop application of the product(s) if any reaction occurs.

  • Please note that all persons using this equipment do so at their own risk.​

  • If a member of Slumber Tents Essex is asked to move furniture etc they are not liable for any damages incurred. 

  • The person/organisation hiring this equipment will be responsible and liable for any damage or injury occurring from, or as a result of misuse or reckless use. These guidelines are for the safety of all people using this equipment, and it is the sole responsibility of the hirer to ensure they are fully adhered to at all times.  The hirer accepts sole responsibility for the safety of all persons using this equipment and agrees to ensure it is supervised at all times by either you, or another responsible adult and accept full liability for any injury occurring from misuse or reckless use.  Slumber Tents Essex cannot be held responsible for any injury caused to anyone using this equipment.

COVID-19 MEASURES​​

  • Slumber Tents Essex have undertaken an accredited Infection Control and Prevention course before following this Method Statement.

  • Following the Government's recent regulation, use of the hire equipment can only be for a maximum of six people from the same household. Where customers are found in breach of this, Slumber Tents Essex will not be responsible for any fine imposed upon the hirer.

  • Social distancing rules will apply during installation and collection.

  • We will require the designated room to be free from other members of the household/party and windows or doors should be open for ventilation.

  • Cross contamination between households will be eliminated by introducing a rest period of 3 days/72 hours between hire and additional cleaning before and after use. 

  • Equipment will be thoroughly cleaned or disinfected before it can be rehired. Everything that can be machine washed will be done so at 60 degrees to eliminate any possible cross contamination.

  • Blankets and bedding will be washed and placed in a fastened bag 72 hours prior to delivery. All blankets, sheets and pillowcases will be stripped by us and placed in a fastened bag on collection.

  • The client must notify Slumber Tents Essex before delivery if there are any members of the household who have tested positive for COVID-19 or are presenting with symptoms in the run up to or during hire. Slumber Tents Essex will also notify the hirer if at any point any members of our household become unwell with any symptoms of COVID-19 and reserve the right to cancel the hire if this situation arises. All deposits/payments can be moved to a new date if the hirer/Slumber Tents Essex need to cancel because of this, or a full refund will be given.

  • Slumber Tents Essex will be adhering to strict hygiene measures in the hope to prevent any spread of COVID-19. However, it is impossible to guarantee that no cross contamination of the virus will happen nor can Slumber Tents Essex be blamed for any possible COVID-19 infection.
